metacarpophalangeal joint seen in longitudinal section



You see 3 images of three different MCP joints. What can You see?

  1. Rather small pics, unfortunately. However, there is in all 3 MCPs a hypoechogenic zone to bee seen, likely representing mild synovial effusion. There also seems to be a thickening of the synovial membrane, particularly so in the second picture. Tendons and tendon sheets are ok, no erosions to bee seen. This is either a mild form of arthritis or just a normal stage depending on the clinical picture and the bloodwork.
